Scarborough Newborn Photographer

How did I miss sharing this gorgeous trio as their Scarborough newborn photographer! Baby boy was a superb model – I couldn’t ask for better. He was very content all of the session and was easily transferred between the poses we captured. Just a little hug or feed here and there and we kept on photographing.

His parents are some of my husbands (and now my) oldest friends. So of course it was even more special than usual to capture these photos for them.

The images in this blog post are examples of my studio style sessions. You can see baby is placed into highly posed positions. Some of them are a composite. What does this mean you ask? When you look at the first image below you see a very cute image. But no newborn baby can support themselves like that. In other words, two photographs are taken and put together in photoshop. There is always the parents hands supporting the baby. One is on the newborns wrists supporting the weight of the head. The other is on top of the head also reducing the weight and keeping the head balanced. When I say “go”, they slowly release one hand a few cm’s from baby so I have a clean shot with no hands. That’s how we can merge the two without including the parents.
