Perth Breastfeeding Photographer

Good evening. Welcome to March and a change of season. I have actually enjoyed the last three months, it has felt like the first proper summer in years. I could have done without the February humidity though! But on topic, I need to share my work as a Perth breastfeeding photographer.

At the same time as the season change an even bigger, more important transition has happened to me. February was the last time I ever breastfed a child. It’s been an eight year and three month era for me, breastfeeding my four babes until they were happy enough to rely on food alone. Being such a large part of my life for so long I really wanted to capture these images for myself … and for my sweethearts when they are grown up and have children of their own.

It is lucky that I am a Perth breastfeeding photographer and could take these images myself. But it was so important I would have hired someone if I needed too. And for everyone wondering, most of the images were taken on a tripod with a timer. Some I had my husbands help with. I chose the camera settings and directed him on the angles to take the photos.

As I planned the portraits I wanted taken I knew I have to include the captures of feeding in bed. It is after all the place where I have spent most of my time with my boobs out with my kids  I have openly admitted to cosleeping with all four of my babies, it was the logical option for me with a husband that works away. Though it has been a real pain at times, I know I will miss it tremendously when it finally stops for good.

It has not been too bad actually when taking away this little guys favourite thing. Lots of extra hugs and kisses always help! I captured some shots in the corner of my studio. and also at the front entrance of my house. It’s the most clothes I will be wearing in this series.

And my last images are from the final stage of Cove letting go of feeding. Somewhere along the way it became his night time comfort to feed in the bath. He still wanted to when these photos were taken two weeks ago. However, I jumped in the bath with him last night for the first time since then and he is no longer interested. The weaning is official!
