Pemberton Newborn Photographer

I did not travel to be a Pemberton newborn photographer for this shoot. They came to me seeing as they had to come to a Perth hospital for delivery. If you think everyone looks familiar, it’s because I shot the maternity photos just a few short weeks ago. I will link the gallery here.

With such a beautiful couple, I knew the newborn photos would be epic. The gender was a surprise so it was fun to learn they had a little girl. Which meant we could then work out the palette for the photos. Mum and dad were aligned with my favourite style. Neutral and pastel – these photos will always be classic and never go out of style. And mum and dad matched perfectly as well.

I truly want everyone to be comfortable for their photos. Dressing in a way that reflects their personality. But a few too many times recently, the adults dressed in full black. Or another dark colour like navy blue or bottle green. Though I have my colour preferences, I am always happy for the family to dress how they like – the acceptation being newborn shoots. A babies skin is so soft and delicate. They are the hero of the images. So we want to compliment their complexion and not compete or distract from it. This is why I recommend all clothing for newborn shoots to be in the palest pastel tones. Think whites, beiges and neutrals; soft grey; pale blue and green and blush or soft pink. All of these shades will accentuate your baby wonderfully. You can see how this family did such a wonderful job.
