On this beautiful evening I was a Floreat portrait photographer for the first time. I have photographed pregnant women on their own before. However, this was the first time I shot a whole portrait session of someone on their own. I am proud of this lady!
My model came here four years ago from Botswana to study metallurgy. Just as she graduated the covid pandemic started. She couldn’t fly home. I am so pleased that her professor was able to find her work. Meaning she could survive the last 18 months stuck in Perth. I am one of the people does believe in the lock down and closed borders we have had in WA. That doesn’t mean I don’t feel for these people that have been separated by family. I myself have most of my family on Sweden.
It was this lovely ladies birthday just before the shoot. Seeing as it has been four years since she saw her family, she thought she would get some photos taken to share with them all. When an in person meeting isn’t possible, wy not get some beautiful portraits to share instead. I know she was interested in a very clean backdrop with minimal distractions. I think the beach at sunset gave us stunning results.
