I adore how this Brighton Beach family photography session turned out. We were in regular contact across the day as the weather was not looking particularly nice. However, this family always come down to Brighton Beach to get outdoors with their son so we decided to go ahead regardless. I bring this up because we only had one gap in the clouds. But that gap was directly in front of the setting sun. Look at the magic created! All the cloud cover was perfect for the soft light we portrait photographers love on skin. So don’t be too quick to cancel a session if the sun isn’t shining. You never know what you will end ups with!
These guys were excellent at personalising their session without going crazy. To start with, as locals they have a family bike they all zip around on. So we had to capture them all riding it for the Brighton Beach family session. And because their little one is used to the beach we included some of his favourite toys he usually plays with. It is a great way to keep babies of this age happy. Being mid winter I recommended a throw and layers to keep warm. They also double as props in the shoot that add interest. I talk about this more on my page dedicated to family photography.
