It was unseasonably warm for spring blossom family photos this year in Perth. I had a weekend planned to take my kids to the hills and then the heat made all the petals drop before we got there. I have been in years past so it wasn’t the end of the world but I hadn’t been since Cove was born. Click here to see the images I captured in 2017.
It was thanks to a friend and their facebook sharing that I found about another location in Perth. POP, Parky’s Organic Patch. As they are an orchard with different fruit the blossom season was still to come. And white flowers, my favourite. So I locked in a weekend during he school holidays and we took a picnic up to Parkerville.
It turned to be perfect actually. As I hadn’t been before I didn’t know exactly how suited it was to photography. The orchard is beautiful but the trees are quite far apart for this fruit (pears if I remember correctly). So there wasn’t much shade but it was coincidently an overcast day so the clouds created beautiful natural soft box for me. No harsh shadows in anyones faces, yay.
This session was also the last time my girls were able to wear the beautiful dresses I had made for them a few years ago. They are all about to burst out of their sizes. Once they are handed down Rosie won’t have an outfit. It is so rare to find green outfits for girls, which looks so good on redheads. So when I saw this fabric on instagram I was very quick to place an order. I am so happy to have them documented.
Back to the setting. POP isn’t on the radar yet for the tourist’s in Perth exploring the spring flowers. Next year in spring blossom family photos season you should definitely reach out to me if you are keen.
