What an opportunity to be a Pinnacles family photographer. It was a last minute decision for our family to head away during the winter school holidays. But we thoroughly enjoyed it. We decided to make Cervantes our base and have a look around the area. We have driven past many times but always on the way to somewhere further north. So this time we stopped right there.
We did get some light rain when we first arrived. However, the last days were lovely and clear. That gave us plenty of time to explore the local beaches, walk along the main street and play at the beach side playground. One of the main sights I wanted to visit was the Pinnacles. I knew I wanted to try and get some family photos of all six of us together. So I packed some clothes to suit the scene and didn’t forget my tripod.
I think my husband thought he had been before but he was in awe of the place as we drove around the track. It was much larger than he thought so I would guess he’s never actually been either. I am so glad we timed our visit for sunset, it was the perfect time to capture our Pinnacle family photographs. I am also glad I didn’t stop at the first cluster of pinnacles as there was heaps of tourists walking around. We kept driving, stopping at cool spots until I spotted this elevated area with views all the way to the ocean. So out came the tripod, automated shutter release and my family photos 🙂
