Spring is here – hallelujah!!! We definitely need rain here in Perth but it seems to have all fallen in the last couple of weeks. It hasn’t actually stopped but we at least have had some lovely days sprinkled in between. I have been waiting for the blossoms to sprout in the fruit orchards basically since Rosie was born. They are only this beautiful for about three weeks of the entire year before all the petals disappear with the wind and the delicious fruit starts to grow. Last year I felt Rosie was too young for photos at Raeburn Ochards, this beautiful location, but I was very fortunate that my sister was in Perth the last few weeks so we got to go on a girls trip into the rolling hills to find the rows of blossom trees.
Another stroke of luck, it was just a little too cold for most of the population because we nearly had the place to ourselves. I came here in Autumn for the stunning change of leaves of the persimmon trees (see here) and there was literally people everywhere, which was also nice to see everyone’s reaction to the beauty around them. But being so quiet we managed a little picnic in the orchard and my sister and I even danced around like we were fairies in the garden like we dreamed of as children because no one was around to watch us. You’ll see my little series below!
