Here's a quick blurb about me. I am a forty-something wife and mamma of four - three girls and a boy! I have been photographing Perth's cutest families for over ten years now. I focus mainly on finding and capturing the unique connections within families. Sessions with me are laid back and relaxed; you won't see me barking orders to get your attention. Don't worry about looking funny or awkward. I've spent a long time perfecting the art of getting comfortable during a photo session, and your family is no exception.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR CHILDREN
Are your children camera-shy, or is it the dads who are even more hesitant?
Because the session is so short, we need everyone ready to go during your time slot. I have included my tips below on the best way to get the whole family ready.

CONFIRM THE PLAN
Two days before your session, I will send a last reminder email.
There is one thing that can affect our shoot day that is totally out of our control - sickness and inclement weather. This is when I will let you know if we need to change our plans.

Arghhhh, I hope your family doesn't get sick. Unfortunately, sick kids (and adults) will not be in the mood for the fun and energy of a shoot. Please cancel.
Please let me know if you are unwell 24 hours before your booking so I can pass your details to the P&C for a refund. No shows forfeit their deposit.

TIMING
Because the mini sessions are booked back to back, you will need to arrive on time. Starting just 10 minutes late will affect the entire day.
I chose to use my studio this year, so that we don't have to worry about bad weather affecting our schedule.
You won't have a problem parking, as there is space on my driveway and in front of the house.

SHOOT DAY
It is Sunday, August 10th. Your session is here!
Yay, this is the best part! We get to meet and capture the magic. We will hug and play out in the beauty of nature.
Due to the short time frame, I will direct your family more than usual to ensure you get a nice variety in your gallery. But feel free to be yourselves and have fun.

GALLERY DELIVERY
On Friday, August 22nd, the proofing galleries will roll out to all the families that attended!!
Grab the tissues and relive the experience through my eyes. Aren't you just the sweetest? You have the weekend to decide on the images you want to keep forever. This is the time to add prints if you like.
Your proofing gallery will remain open until 9pm on August 25th.
Please send me your selection before the closing time; if not, there will be a $20 fee to reopen the gallery. There are a lot of families booked in, and I need to streamline this process so it doesn't impact my other clients.

GALLERY EXPIRY
I carefully adjust all images for colour and brightness using my signature editing style.
Given the short session (more like a taster of what it's like to work with me), I won't be doing detailed photoshopping. So if the kids have a fake tattoo, underwear hanging out, etc, this will remain in the images.
All download galleries will be open until December 31st before closing permanently. Your images will be archived.
Please do not forget to download your images. Again, there will be a $20 fee to retrieve your images from my archives.

YOUR PRINTS ARE READY
All print orders will be processed together. I'll reach out to you when they are ready to be picked up.
This is when you get to hold a tangible copy of your beautiful family. Incredible, professional prints to display around your home. Heaven!!
Preparation
TIMING
When it comes to mini sessions, timing is everything. You MUST ARRIVE ON TIME for your photo shoot. Each family has booked a 10 minute slot (with five minutes of wiggle room if needed). If you are running only 10 minutes late, it impacts EVERY FAMILY after you!
LOCATION
To keep us dry and warm this year, I will be using my elegant and timeless home studio for a mini session. Decorated in neutral tones, you'll find the setting suits every family.
PROPS AND PETS
You don't need to bring anything with you at all! I will have several stools and boxes for you to sit on if needed, as well as a rug for the ground when capturing the adorable snuggle photos, when everyone is hugging.
Because I want to keep the room as white as possible for all my families, no pets are allowed at this year's shoot.
HAIR AND MAKEUP
Getting your hair and make up done is entirely up to you! I know you will look beautiful in front of the camera, no matter what. Mothers who invest a little in themselves feel more fabulous in front of the camera. And how you feel is what it’s all about at the end of the day!
So if it’s a good excuse to find 45 minutes to escape to be pampered, then go for it! If not, a quick application of mascara defines your eyes and lip gloss accentuates your gorgeous smile.

Let Kids be Kids ...
DON'T LET THEM BE HUNGRY OR COLD
Being a mini session, we don't have much time to warm up and relax in front of the camera. Thankfully, most kids are on their best behaviour early on, so I don't find it a problem. But there are a few things I find vital to having happy kids.
The only time I have kids who won't cooperate is when they're either hungry or cold. So please feed your family before the photos, not afterwards. By all means, go out for a special treat (I highly recommend it as bribery), but make sure everyone has a full tummy before they arrive.
Secondly, being cold. If the weather is unseasonably cold, don't worry. I love snuggly shoots with everyone dressed in cosy knits and lots of layers. It looks so good in the camera. There is no reason to freeze for your photos. You will end up with blue lips and a red nose that is running.
LET KIDS BE KIDS
I know you want the perfect smile from your kids, but every child has their own personality - just like us grown ups. And we all have good days and bad days ourselves.
If your child isn't cooperating, please refrain from scolding them in front of me, especially when time is of the essence. I guarantee it never works, and you will more likely end up with tears or scowling faces. By the time they relax again, your time is up. I much prefer bribery for these short shoots - whatever it may be that you like to spoil your kids with :)
I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to keep the kids happy and engaged, so please leave it to me to get everyone's attention.
TOYS AND SINGING
Depending on the age of your children, a comfort toy might be just the trick to help them settle. I do recommend something discreet that we can try and hide, but you know your child best.
Also, I haven't known a little one that doesn't love a nursery rhyme. So if we need to, there will most definitely be a family (and photographer) sing-a-long :)
