It is times like this when I am happy to be a City Beach extended family photographer. It is never a happy moment when a family member is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Grandma is loved by all of her children and grandchildren so every one was happy to get some family portraits together.
This is one of the reasons my job is so important. I lost my mum to cancer when I was 17 and my dad to dementia when I was 38. I do have many happy memories that I hope will never fade. But exisiting in photos means you have a visual prompt to help bring those memories back to life.
Being such a beautiful late spring evening, we decided to head to the coast for a sunset City Beach extended family photographer session. This is one of the first weekends of restrictions easing after covid 19 quarantine here in Perth. So groups of 10 were allowed to meet in public. Perfect for us! It was very busy though so we walked up to the end of the promenade and found a much quieter stretch of beach to capture the photos.
All the children had a great time chasing each other through the dunes before heading to the pink and golden sunset by the water line. All beautiful locations for the photos with grandma. I think everyone left having a lot of fun.
