Hi there! I am Jessica, specialising in Perth portrait photography based in the northern suburb of Carine. I am one lucky mamma being blessed with a large family of six. There is my one true love, three gorgeous daughters, and lucky last, a baby boy. They are my everything and I’m passionate about capturing our days together and the little bit of magic that is our life.

Because of my parents nationalities, I have had the fantastic opportunity to live and grow up in Sweden and Australia. Not many people’s earliest memories are of jet setting to the other side of the world. As a result, I was hooked on travelling from a very early age. After finishing school and a getting a degree in one of the health sciences, I spent my twenties exploring the globe. This is when my love for photography grew. It was these once in a lifetime moments I wanted to always remember and capture on film. Once I settled back in Australia I followed my dream of working in Perth portrait photography!

I am such a sentimental. When I was young I spent endless hours creating photo books of my life. I wanted to record all the details of my childhood and later my travels. I am so thankful that I did as both my parents died way too young. My photos of them are amongst my most precious possessions. Their passing IS my reason I do what I do. I know that I am creating memories for clients that will last many lifetimes. Knowing that at any point we can look back at these photos, even in 10, 20, 30 years time – we can go back to that exact moment all over again. Now that I am a mother of four children as well as a daughter, sister and wife, I am more convinced than ever that photography is a gift.

The approach I take to photography is natural and gentle but full of emotion. I document things just as they are and find the beauty in every tiny detail. I won’t ask you to “say cheese”. Actually, you don’t even need to look at the camera – I prefer it that way. We will snuggle, play, tickle and have fun. Together we will capture beautiful, authentic, and love filled images for your family to treasure for years to come. I am your story teller. Let me tell it one memory, one moment at a time!

I would love to capture your memories with Perth portrait photography. Please get in touch to enquire about availability or ask any questions you have about my sessions. Thank you for stopping by, I am so thrilled that you are here.

What's in my

Camera

Bag?

I started with a Canon 5D mkII and after about five years upgraded to a Canon 5D mk IV, keeping my original body as a back up. Another five years passed and the quality of mirrorless cameras had started to surpass the SLR cameras. So in 2022, I decided to make the swap. The body I work with now is a Canon 5D R6.

With my new purchase, I decided to trade in my old lens' and buy arguably the best lens ever made, the RF 24-70mm.

Seeing as this lens is very big and heavy, I did buy a nice little 35mm lens that is perfect for my family holiday adventures. It is also a macro lens so I can use it for my little newborn babies.

My preference is to use natural light but my home studio doesn't have enough of it for a lot of the day. So I have been using a continuous light and also a flash with a huge modifier for some of my studio sessions. My aim is for it to always look as natural as possible.
