My neighbour and I have been talking about family photos and our favourite ways to display them around the home, so we finally booked in a time for her to get some pictures with all of her boys. Both of us moved into the neighbourhood at the same time and intend on it being our forever homes so what better place to take the pictures but around their garden. We had to dodge the harsh sunlight at times but with so many lovely shaded areas on their property we were able to move around and capture a variety of settings.
Because we had spoken about it on and off for so long I think we (or Samara) managed to get everyone dressed just perfectly. I think in modern family portraiture you don’t want to be dressed in identical outfits. The way to go is to pick a few colours you want to feature and then have everyone’s outfits in matching tones but you can have fun with different patterns. You can see here that everyone is dressed in something different but due to everyone wearing a shade of blue with a neutral they still all belong together and look like a family. Perfect:)
